The service
PeelWatch is free to use, provided as-is, with no guarantee of uptime, accuracy or availability. We work to keep it running and correct, but we don't promise that it always will be.
Not a safety service
Forecasts on PeelWatch are modelled, not measured — they come from weather and ocean models, not from someone watching the water. They are not a safety service, and nothing on this site should be the sole basis for a decision to enter the water. Always assess the conditions yourself before paddling out.
Acceptable use
Use PeelWatch like a person, not a scraper: don't automate requests in a way that degrades the service for others, and don't republish our forecast data, scores or feeds as if they were your own.
Your content
Spot notes and feedback you submit remain yours. By submitting them, you grant us permission to display them on the site. Submitted content is moderated and may be edited or removed.
Data & attribution
Forecast data is supplied by Open-Meteo under a CC BY 4.0 licence; maps use OpenFreeMap, OpenMapTiles and OpenStreetMap contributors; live camera feeds are provided by MEO Beachcam. Full attribution appears in the footer of every page.
Liability
PeelWatch and its data sources are not liable for any loss, injury or damage arising from your use of the site or reliance on the information it shows.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. The date below shows when they were last revised.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal.
